The Guinea Pig
I don’t know if they still do or not, but there was a time when there was laboratory testing done on guinea pigs. That’s where we got the term being a guinea pig, one who goes first to test things out for everybody else. We have always had guinea pigs.
How is it that we know which foods are safe to eat and which are toxic? Because 10,000 years ago, Caveman Grog ate an unknown plant to see if it made him feel better or worse. Thank God we had Caveman Grog! Guinea pigs push forward our knowledge, they show us previously unknown possibilities. Being a guinea pig can be risky, but without risk there is no progress.
Today, be willing to try something new, something that you’ve never done before or something that you’re really terrible at that you would like to improve on. Today, explore the unknown and experience an awakening of your spirit. Today, be willing to accept that you don’t know everything and you need all the help you can get. Today, be willing to left go of self-will, and ask for guidance from your higher power. Take a risk. Let’s face it: if you’re going to take any risk, resting in the love and care of a higher power is a pretty safe bet. Today, at least once, let yourself be the guinea pig.
Thank you
Jim
