God Needs Our Help As Much As We Need His

Most of the titles of the blogs that I write come to me out of nowhere. Circumstance creates a passing thought and I jot it down to write on it later. I have an idea of what I generally want to write, but I never really know what’s going to come out until I put pen to paper. The other night I shared this title with my wife and expressed my intent to write on it. She said emphatically, boy, you’ve got that all backwards. But do I?
Let me start by saying that I firmly believe that God created everything and is in everything. Everything is made up of God. There isn’t anything that isn’t. Without God, I don’t exist. Frankly, I don’t think I’d want to, not anymore. I choose to believe that God acts with purpose and design in all He does. He can and does everything. As such, why would I make such a bold statement that God needs our help as much as we need His?

Because God has already done His Part.

God has already given to me a life and given me a purpose. Even when I failed to acknowledge His Existence, which I did for many years by the way, He still looked over me and protected me. He had to have; I wouldn’t be here today if He didn’t. He has made promises to us that He is incapable of breaking. God loves me despite me.
I made the statement because God is most powerful when we work in union with Him. God needs our help.

God in his infinite wisdom gave each and every one of us free will, to make our own decisions what we will think and what we will do. He could’ve made us where we would never do anything massively stupid and screw ourselves. But He didn’t and I choose to believe He didn’t for a good reason. God wants us to experience and learn what a gift we always had. He wants us to discover our powerlessness as soon as possible so that we will drop our guard and allow him to start helping us actively. He waits patiently for us to illuminate and ignite our constant and consistent need for Him. He is more than willing and able to deliver.

God works through people; He always has. God needs our help to verify His existence and share His Saving Grace with others. By living as God directs, I help get His Message out. I put His Principles into practice in the real world. By passing on what was given to me, I help God touch other people. As such, I have the good fortune to participate in miracles on a daily basis. I help God by being His agent and a model of His Solution.

What God really needs from me is for me to do my part, to do what He has asked, which is all He ever asks.
In order for God to help me, I must allow God to help me. I kept him on the sidelines for years. For the longest time, I didn’t do anything He told me and I got what that gets you. Since I have accepted vital instruction on God’s Love, I realize that I am the only weak link in this chain of life. God has done and is doing everything He said He would do. God needs me to do better. Everybody needs me to do better. God will help me do that. I will help God with everything else.

This one is on us, folks.

Thank you
Jim
