12- Step Program
* You take the first step -- We will walk beside you the rest of the way!
Restore sense of humanness – Breaks down denial – Promotes an inner purpose
The 12- Step ideology founded by Alcoholics Anonymous in 1935 is used approximately by 74 percent of treatment centers.
The foundation of this model is that with the support of others going through the same thing, people struggling with addiction will achieve continued abstinence from substances of abuse. The first step of the twelve, for most, is the hardest and perhaps the most important.
Step 1: Honesty -- where you admit that you are powerless to overcome your addictions and that your life has become out of control. The 12-Step Program not only helps in the initial phase of recovery but is a guide to sobriety and a more meaningful life.
