At Rocky Mountain Treatment Center we begin each day with a breath of fresh air - meditation. Together we quiet our minds.
Entering treatment can be very frightening, but it is not the only fear the individual is concerned with. They are haunted by the alcohol or drug addicted life they once lived and terrified of uncertainty in the future. Rocky Mountain Treatment Center helps you to learn to live in the moment.
Many holistic therapies instruct you on how to live more in the present. These new skills will give you confidence and coping skills to take on each new day.
We use an integrated addiction treatment philosophy, which addresses the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. During detox your body rids itself of toxic substances, but that only addresses the physical issues. Addiction is in large part a psychological and spiritual disease. If the mind and spirit are left untreated, the person is left vulnerable to relapse.
Being mindful teaches you how to live in the here and now. By getting all the worries and regrets out of your mind, it allows you to focus on the present and your recovery.
Breathing exercises help you to relax anytime and anywhere, and are one of easiest and most efficient ways to relieve stress.
Meditation is an excellent tool during treatment and throughout recovery. Many of us are impulsive and obsessive. Meditation calms the mind, which helps us make thoughtful choices and live in the moment.
Breathing exercises are becoming more and more popular to aid in drug and alcohol recovery. This holistic approach helps with coping skills, anxiety, and living in the present.

Symbiosis Always
I have met the enemy, the enemy is me;
The prideful, haughty spirit, Keeps me from being free.
The one who doesn’t listen, To the still, calm, Voice within.
The one whose willful spirit, Turns my soul to self and sin.
That child who struggles vainly, For recognition and for love,
But fails to heed, appropriately, The Voice from up above.
The self willed, haughty soul haughty soul, Who seeks to have its way,
Failing to find serenity, Not staying in today.
The one whose acceptance level, for people, places, things,
Chases serenity and peace, Away with chaos’ darkened wing.
Yet, if I but quietly listen, Give heed to His command,
I find the peace and acceptance, That my suffering core demands.
I need stay within the present, Accept His simple way,
Living in a loving stance, Living in the now, today.
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we are doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
