Why Family Therapy Matters?
Addiction destroys many things – a career, a future, a person’s life – but perhaps one of the most evil things about addiction is that it destroys relationships.
One person’s substance abuse can destroy an entire family, as bridges are burned and things said and done that cause irreparable damage and break hearts. That’s why the family unit plays such a critical role in a person's recovery. Often, friends and family members will enable the individual struggling. Through our family program we emphasize education and awareness of the disease and promote family strength and unity.
Therapeutic Benefits of Equine Therapy
In a safe environment, clients learn to face their fears and build confidence in their ability to overcome challenges. People who are intimidated and nervous at first may be surprised to discover how quickly they can process those feelings and find comfort in their relationship with the horse. Empowered by the experience, people develop the confidence to address other fears and transfer these lessons to day-to-day life.
Clients don’t have to love horses or have experience working with animals in order to benefit from equine therapy. They simply have to be willing to receive treatment and move in a different direction than they have in the past.
Horses are soothing, gentle animals. They are straightforward in their interactions without lying or manipulating. They do not judge or blame. Their presence alone can be immensely healing.
Benefits of Therapeutic Recreation
Rocky Mountain Treatment Center places an emphasis on Recreational Therapy throughout a Clients Treatment.
Involvement in Recreation Therapy can assist to:
Reduce depression and anxiety.
Improve coping behaviors.
Reduce stress level.

Holistic Healing in Therapy
We approach addiction treatment by treating the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. During detox your body rids itself of the substance, but, that is just the physical treatment. Addiction is Psychological, Physical and Emotional. If the mind and spirit are left untreated, the person is left very vulnerable.

The Importance of Aftercare
Once your loved one has completed Detox and / or Inpatient Treatment and has returned home from Rocky Mountain Treatment Center, the support of aftercare groups can help them take their first steps back into everyday life.
Support groups consist of people who are in a similar situation to the patient – people who have substance abuse problems, were given a humbling ultimatum by their families, went through treatment, and are learning how to live life again, one day at a time, one step at a time. Through sharing experiences, success stories, and experiences of failure, the members of a support group build each other up to face each day anew.
