Equine Therapy Program Manager
I am Justin Warneke, and this is my story; Growing up on a ranch, competing in rodeos and working in the oilfield shaped my character in my younger years. My love for horses led me to become a full time horse trainer for 30 years. I traveled the United States competing in Reined Cow Horse, Roping and Cutting competitions. Battling alcohol started in my early teens and progressively became out of control causing many problems throughout my life. The freedom created by my career choice allowed me to drink as much as I wanted. This freedom finally became a crutch and I could no longer manage my life due to my excessive drinking.
The great people involved with Alcoholics Anonymous assisted me in learning how to work the 12 step program. I work the steps daily and continue to grow in my relationship with God. I have been greatly blessed to be the Equine Program Manager for Rocky Mountain Treatment Center. The best way for me to continue in my sobriety is to stay in the middle of a herd of helpful, loving people. I am happily sober in a great herd today.
